Regular Check-ups
Regular check-ups can aid in the prevention of cavities and other dental issues in your child. Our dentist will examine your child's teeth and gums carefully and thoroughly and make recommendations for further treatment based on their findings.
Teeth Cleanings
One of the most common treatments your child will require is teeth cleaning, also known as oral prophylaxis. Having your child's teeth professionally cleaned is an effective way to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Tooth-colored Fillings
Tooth fillings help to keep food particles from getting trapped in your child’s teeth and causing cavities. The application is quick and painless, and it can effectively protect your child’s teeth for many years.
Sealants
Sealants help cover a portion of your child’s tooth to prevent damage from occurring. Sealants provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size damage that need to withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing.
NuSmile Crowns
NuSmile® Signature Crowns are a tried and true restoration for primary teeth that have been affected by early childhood caries. They provide children with a healthy, natural smile, are less technique sensitive than composite strip crowns, and are inexpensive.
Space Maintainers
A space maintainer is a device that keeps the space left by a baby tooth open until your child's adult tooth grows in. They are typically made of metal or acrylic and can be either fixed or removable. As it holds the space open for the growing tooth, a space maintainer is sometimes shaped like a tooth itself.
General Anesthesia / Nitrous Oxide
Giving nitrous oxide to a child during dental treatment can help reduce their pain and anxiety. The anesthetic is administered through a small nosepiece, and your child will remain awake throughout the procedure. After their dental treatment, children usually recover quickly from the effects of the anesthetic.
Fluoride
Daytona Pediatric Dentistry's dentists can help determine your child's fluoride level. Fluoride is an essential mineral that aids in the development of healthy, strong teeth in children. It also aids in the prevention of cavities.
Emergency Dental Care
A pediatric dental emergency can occur as a result of a fall or other unexpected injury. For patients who are unable to visit our clinic, our dentists have hospital privileges at Florida Hospital, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, and Halifax Medical Center.
